Overview of Functions
Placeholder blocks are simple by design as they are, after all, just placeholders. The core purposes of a placeholder block are as followed:
โ
1. It serves as a temporary container for content in your app editor that could be added to your page at a later time. It reserves the the space on the page where a block may eventually be added by clicking the '+ Add Block' button on the block.
Note: Some blocks may not always shrink or fit into the designated space depending on their individual parameters.
2. It can be used a 'spacer block' in your live app if the space is unfilled. These blocks will therefore not show in a live preview and can be used intentionally to create space breaks on your pages if needed.
